What is happening with B.B.H. at 25 weeks?
Get ready for pat-a-cake! Baby's hands are now fully developed and he spends most of his awake time groping around in the darkness of your uterus. Brain and nerve endings are developed enough now so that your baby can feel the sensation of touch. That doesn't mean he can feel it when his father pokes your stomach, however, so tell him to knock it off.
Other highlights include:Your baby's arms and legs have grown to almost the proportions they will be at birth, which is still sort of short. So don't be alarmed when your newborn's arms barely clear his waist. Baby's nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, clear out (like he's taken a super-dose of Sudafed) and he can practice breathing through the nose. The structures of your baby's spine are now made up of 150 joints, 33 rings and some 1,000 ligaments. Can you believe you're growing something that complicated inside of you?The capillaries, the teeniest blood vessels, are now forming in your baby's body, giving his formerly translucent skin a pink glow.
The blood vessels in the lungs also develop this week. You'll see how well that worked out when your baby gives those lungs a workout while you're on line at the bank in a few months. Your baby weighs about a pound and a half and is about 13½ inches long—roughly the length of one of those recorders you played in elementary school music class. Who's up for a round of "Hot Cross Buns?"
QUESTION: What color hair do you think our baby boy will have? To leave a comment, just click on the comment link below. I guess dark brown like mine!!

Here is your next hint for B.B.H.'s name!!
Can you guess B.B.H.'s name now???
Remember to guess via email/phone. Don't leave your guesses in a comment below just in case you are right!
(for those of you who already saw the cipher hint, I (nicki) did it wrong....so you can disregard it.....sorry if you spent a lot of time on it!!! You can't hit a pregnant lady - haha!!
Floss for a longer pregnancy? Really?
Want to keep your baby safely inside you until term? Put your dental floss where your mouth is. Surprisingly, research links good oral hygiene with longer pregnancies. Sounds crazy — doesn't it? Crazy, but true. Something as simple as brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing regularly can reduce the risk of gingivitis — a common condition in which your gums become inflamed, red, and even begin to bleed. Untreated gingivitis (that's where the regular dental checkups come in) can progress to periodontitis — a more serious infection of the teeth — which has been linked to premature birth and even an increased risk of preeclampsia. Keep on top of your teeth, and that old (untrue) wives' tale — the one that claims that a woman loses a tooth with each pregnancy — can finally be put to rest.
Ack!!! Bring on the toothpaste and floss STAT!!

What is a Blog anyway??
For all of your inquiring minds.....
A blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketches (sketchblog), videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting), which are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging, one which consists of blogs with very short posts. As of December 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 112 million blogs. With the advent of video blogging, the word blog has taken on an even looser meaning — that of any bit of media wherein the subject expresses his opinion or simply talks about something.
So now you know!!!

That's music to our ears!
You will see to the left of this webpage two playlists - "Our Favorite Songs" and "B.B.H.'s playlist (by Darren)". To listen to a song, just press the play button (grey box with a blue triangle) to the left of the title. That's it!! Easy right? :o)
The playlist Darren created for B.B.H. has some of the songs we play for B.B.H. at night using our Ipod and headphones - he seems to love it!! We've read that by playing music for your baby in the womb could increase brain activity - thus increasing the chance for a higher I.Q.. Also, after the baby is born, by playing the same exact music whilst the baby is crying or upset will sooth him/her. Pretty cool huh?
Some of the songs aren't the whole entire song, just maybe 30 seconds or so. We would have to purchase them in order to play the whole entire song - ugh... :o(
We hope you enjoy the music!!
